Use:
This antibiotic is used to treat bacterial infections in the ears, nose and throat, chest and lungs, as well as teeth, skin and urinary tract infections. It can also be used to treat tuberculosis that has become resistant to different treatments.
Indication:
This medication can be taken with or without food for your child. It is best to take it with food as it increases the absorption of the medicine and reduces the risk of stomach problems. Your doctor may prescribe it 2 to 3 times a day. The dosage of the medicine depends on the nature of the infection, the type of infection, your child’s body weight, and age. Stick to the dosage, time, and route prescribed by your doctor. If your child vomit within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, let your child settle down and repeat the dosage. Do not take more than one dose if it’s time for the next one.
Side Effects:
Vomiting, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, and allergic reactions may occur with this medication. These reactions should resolve on their own. However, if they persist or worsen, it is important to contact your child’s doctor as soon as possible.
Safety Advice:
Your child’s entire medical history should be shared with the doctor. This includes any previous episodes of allergies, heart issues, blood disorders, birth abnormalities, airway obstructions, lung anomalies, gastrointestinal issues, skin disorders, liver problems, and kidney problems. This information can help the doctor make dose adjustments and plan your child’s treatment plan.
