Use:
This medication is a fast-acting inhaler or “reliever”. It is used to treat symptoms of asthma and COPD, including wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath.
Indication:
This medication is known as a “reliever” inhaler because it gives you immediate relief from your breathing problems when needed. You will usually be given an inhaler that prevents your symptoms (preventer) and you will need to use this inhaler on a daily basis. It works fast and the effects last for several hours. It can be used any time of the day or night, but only when you experience symptoms such as: Cough, Wheezing, Shortness of breath, Tightness in your chest, You know you are about to do something that can cause you to become breathless. When you have an asthma attack, you will need to take as many puffs as your doctor prescribes. There are many different types of inhalers, so it is important to learn how to use them correctly or else your inhaler may not work properly.
Side Effects:
Most of the time, it is safe and effective. However, it may cause some of the following side effects:
Tremors
Headache
Palpitations
Viral Respiratory Tract Infections
Cough
These side effects are not usually dangerous and should improve over time as your body adapts to the medicine.
There are rare side effects as well. If you experience chest pain, severe headache, or extreme dizziness, contact your doctor immediately.
Safety Advice:
It may cause dizziness or tremors.
Do not drive or use any tools or machines until you are feeling better.
Do not smoke as it damages your lungs and worsens your condition.
Do not take this medicine if you have:High blood pressure, Overactive thyroid gland, History of heart problems, Diabetes, Low level of potassium in the blood, Pregnant or breastfeeding.
