Use:
This medication is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and stroke. It also reduces the risk of heart attack.
Indication:
It is used in combination with a healthy diet, salt limit and regular exercise. It can be taken with food or without food in the morning to prevent frequent urination in the night. It may cause dehydration so it is best to take lots of fluids. You should inform your doctor if you experience extreme thirst, muscle weakness, or swelling of your ankle.
Side Effects:
The majority of these side effects do not need medical treatment and go away as your body adapts to the medicine. Talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or if you are concerned about them.
Common side effects: Glucose intolerance, Fatigue, Sleepiness, Swelling in the lower extremities, Headache, Fever, Flushing (feeling of warmth in the cheeks, neck and upper body), Fatigue, Palpitations (feeling of shortness of breath), Nausea (feeling of nausea), High blood uric acid level, Low potassium level in the blood, Altered Blood Lipid Level.
Safety Advice:
It is not safe to drink alcohol.
It may not be safe to take during pregnancy.
It is likely safe to take it during breastfeeding.
It may cause side effects that may affect the ability to drive.
It may lead to dizziness, headache, nausea, or tiredness.
People with severe kidney disease should not take Amdepin.
People with liver disease should take Amdepin with caution.
