Use:
It is used for Bacterial infections of the Eye, Ear, Nose, Throat, Lungs, Teeth, Skin, and Urinary Tracts. It is also used as an antibiotic treatment for penicillin allergies. It may also help treat certain infections such as: Pertussis (Whooping cough), Diphtheria.
Indication:
It should be taken on an empty stomach, either 1 hour prior to or 2 hours after a meal, as this will increase its absorption. However, in the event of stomach upset, it should be taken with a small portion of food.The recommended dose of it is four times daily. However, the dosage may vary depending on the nature of the infection, its intensity, and your child’s age and weight. Therefore, it is important to follow the dosage, time, and route prescribed by your doctor.Typically, the treatment will last between 5 and 10 days depending on the severity of your child’s infection and how well they respond to treatment. Make sure your child takes the full prescribed dose, as stopping treatment too soon may make your child worse or make them more likely to get re-infected. If your child throws up within half an hour of taking this medication, calm your child down and repeat the same dose.
Side Effects:
The side effects of this medicine may be mild. Some of the side effects you may experience with this medicine include: Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Stomach pain.
These side effects should go away on their own in a few days, but if they persist or if your child experiences stomach pain, contact your child’s doctor as soon as possible.
