Lipid Profile tests are performed to measure and monitor the amount of total cholesterol (fats) in the body. Tests falling under this category are performed to determine overall cardiovascular health of a person, especially if he/she has risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It is usually done as part of routine health checkups.
