Use:
This medication is a Tricyclic Anti-Depressant. This medicine is used in different doses to treat and prevent various conditions such as depression, Neuropathic pain, and Migraines.
Indication:
This medication is usually taken before bed as it can cause drowsiness. You can take it with or without a meal. Your doctor will decide the dose and frequency of administration to ensure you get the correct amount to manage your symptoms. Increase the dose slowly and carefully under your doctor’s supervision. It may not work immediately and it may take several weeks to get the full benefits. The duration of use will depend on the purpose for which you are taking the medicine. Even if you feel fine, you should continue taking the medicine. Don’t stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this can worsen your condition or lead to other symptoms. The dose may be adjusted or gradually reduced before you stop taking the medication.
Side Effects:
The most common adverse reactions to this medicine are:Nausea, Constant diarrhoea, Sweating, Dry mouth, Sleepiness, Tremors, Dizziness, Headache, Speech disorder, Accommodation disorder, Palpitations, Higher heart rate, Orthostatic Hypotension, Nasal Congestion.
Safety Advice:
It is not addictive and you may experience withdrawal symptoms if you suddenly stop taking it. Most common side effects are mild. If side effects bother you or persist, your doctor may recommend ways to prevent or reduce them. Severe side effects are rare.
